"I am sorry to say that on this day at 2:05, September 19th, we lost another incredible life. DJ Roc Raida die today. My personal DJ is gone," Busta tweeted.
DJ Roc Raida's real name was Anthony Williams. He passed away on Saturday due to complications from a car accident.
No specific details have been released regarding the complications of the accident, which occurred some months prior. A statement from Williams family was published by Busta Rhymes on the hiphop site nahright.com.
“Although he (Roc Raida) had under gone 2 surgeries with great success, was released to an inpatient physical therapy facility and was in great spirits the past few days. This morning he started to have complications and passed. The family asks for privacy at this time.”
