Apparently, several Florida players may have health issues. Several of them, including senior quarterback Tim Tebow may have swine flu, and took a plane separate from the rest of team after coming down with flu-like symptoms.
Last week was a bad week, health-wise, for Florida as well. A mere handful of key players for Florida were sick last week. Head coach that coach Urban Meyer noted that as a reason for the Gators' relatively subpar victory 23-13 over Tennessee. This week, if Tim Tebow has the swine flu, things might be much more difficult for Florida.
In fact, Florida coach Urban Meyer has estimated that around 35 players have developed flu-like symptoms over the last three to four weeks. If Tim Tebow had the swine flu, that's a whole 'nother level of illness, however.
Florida is currently #1 ranked, but you have to bet the illness running through the team has it nervous. Whether or not Tim Tebow has the swine flu, and the latest reports seem to indicate he's ill, but not necessarily with the swine flu, the illness is affecting many players.
Two good tidbits of information: ESPN is reporting that Tim Tebow's illness is not the swine flu. Additionally, Florida has won 22 straight vs. Kentucky. The bad news is that although they are not saying Tim Tebow has the swine flu, they are saying he has "a respiratory illness" that does not include a fever. He is expected to start today, anyway.
