The Samsung Moment is an Android-based phone. It's one of the many being released soon, and introduced now, and this one is coming to Sprint at just $179 beginning Nov. 1st.
The Samsung Moment has an 800MHz ARM processor, a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, optical trackpad, GPS, accelerometer WiFi, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Compare the CPU speed with HTC's Android phones; they offer 528MHz chips. This is Samsung’s first Android offering in the US.
Originally the Samsung Moment was to be called the InstinctQ. This would have leveraged Sprint's popular (but closed platform) Instinct device.
Typical of Sprint devices, the handset comes loaded with Sprint Navigation, NFL Mobile Live and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile. The Samsung Moment also adds many popular Google apps such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube.
The $179 price is after $100 mail-in-rebate and $50 instant savings. You can watch a video demo of the Samsung Moment here.
