The swap between Alabama and Texas in the AP NCAA college football rankings for week 7 aren't really that important, as if things continue as now they would face each other in the in the SEC title game. However, the Longhorns fall of one place is more indicative of their lackluster play against Colorado.

Texas had been #2 all season in the AP NCAA college football rankings all season , but their poor play early against Colorado, despite a 38-14 win, didn't impress. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide rolled over Mississippi 22-3. Florida and Tim Tebow beat LSU 13-3.

With LSU's loss to Florida, #4 Virginia Tech, #5 Boise State and #6 Southern California each moved up one spot in the AP NCAA college football rankins for week 7. LSU dropped all the way to #10 with its first loss. Ohio State moved up to #7, ahead of #8 Cincinnati after a 31-13 victory over previously unbeaten Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame returned to the AP NCAA college football rankings at #25.
