Chiefs Bar Larry Johnson After Gay Slur

Larry Johnson, RB of the Kansas City Chiefs, is in hot water for the second time in less than 12 months. According to multiple reports, Johnson, in telling reporters to get away from him, used a slur that referred to gays.

The question of what did Larry Johnson say is answered by what did University of Hawaii coach Greg McMackin say? Yes, the Larry Johnson slur is the same one that earned McMackin a suspension: f****t.

Not stopping there, the Larry Johnson slur appeared on his Twitter feed as well. Not a big fan of rookie Coach Todd Haley, he's also posted demeaning remarks about him, but that's another story.

The Larry Johnson slur has ended up with him barred from the KC locker room. He's barred from practice and all other team activities as the club and the NFL investigate.

The Larry Johnson slur could earn the RB a suspension. Last season, then head coach Herman Edwards benched Johnson for three games for an unspecified violation of team rules. Then, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him for a fourth game for violating the league’s player-conduct policy in connection with incidents involving two women in bars. Finally, Johnson was sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to two counts of disturbing the peace.

Larry Johnson has 358 yards on 132 rushes this season, and has no touchdowns. Definitely a sub-standard year for the RB, it's possible the slur was made out of frustration.

Larry Johnson apologized for the slur. His statement, in part, said: “The words were used by me in frustration and they were not appropriate. I did not intend to offend anyone but that is no excuse for what I said.”
