On Saturday, Police reported they arrested Anthony Sowell, a convicted rapist who had earlier fled before police arrived to arrest him on new charges. Sowell was arrested when authories saw him walking down the street on the East Side of Cleveland.

Anthony Sowell, 50, spent 15 years in prison for a 1989 rape. Thursday night, police went to Sowell's home to arrest him on additional charges of felonious assault and rape. Officers found three bodies and believe they have discovered three more but are awaiting confirmation from the coroner.

When searching Anthony Sowell's home, detectives found two bodies Thursday on the third floor of a duplex. Police also found a freshly dug grave in the basement. All the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition.

Cuyahoga County Coroner Frank Miller identified two of bodies as black females and ruled one of them a homicide. The race and gender of the third has not been determined yet.

Anthony Sowell has lived at the home in question since 2005, when he was released from prison after serving his time. Police have begun checking missing-person reports dating back to June 2005, when Sowell was released.
