The App Store has become the repository of the official application of the acclaimed Musée du Louvre. At the same time, the Louvre itself has become the repository of Paris' first Apple Store.
The free Louvre app allows iPhone and iPod touch users to can explore the galleries of the museum. It also has mundane information such as hours, maps and services. It's divided into five sections:
- Artworks
- The Palace
- Tour
- Bookmarks
- Visitor information
Meanwhile, if you want to explore the intricacies of Apple products, you can, vice versa, do that in the Louvre. To be exact, Apple's first Paris store is located in the Carrousel du Louvre shopping center.
Ron Johnson, Senior Vice President of Retail Apple, said in a statement, "We are very pleased to extend the experience of the Apple Store in France. The new store is located below the famous Louvre Pyramid, in the Carrousel du Louvre. This is the place to go shopping, train and develop ideas."
Apple plans other Paris stores, naturally. Microsoft beat Apple to the punch by opening a theme cafe to promote its Windows 7 software two weeks ago.
