Alabama came in ranked number 3. It fell from No. 2 after barely defeating Tennessee 12 - 10, with Terrence Cody’s two blocked field goal attempts in the fourth quarter.
The LSU vs. Alabama football game was no easier for the Crimson Tide. It trailed 15 - 10 entering Q4. To ice the win, Julio Jones caught a 73-yard touchdown pass and Leigh Tiffin booted a 40-yard field goal with 3:04 left to seal the 24 - 15 victory for the Crimson Tide against No. 9 LSU.
With the win, Alabama is now 9 - 0. The LSU Tigers fell to 7 - 2. It shouldn't have been as close as the score indicated, as The Tide outgained LSU 452 - 253.
As can be seen from the score and the yardage, it was the Tide defense, as it has all season, and as it clearly did in the Tenn. game, that came through in the end. The Tigers were held to 95 yards rushing, the 20th opponent to produce fewer than 100 yards in Alabama’s last 23 games.
As the LSU vs. Alabama football game fades into history, a big question remains for the Tide defense. It's held true all year long; will it be able to stop Florida and Tim Tebow?
