The Green Bay Packers saw their playoff hopes dashed on Sunday, in a 38 - 28 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the same time, however, RB Ahman Green became the team's career rushing leader, overtaking all-time GB great Jim Taylor.

Ahman Green, who left the Packers for an injury-plagued two seasons with the Houston Texans in 2007-2008, came back to the pack this season. He had to practically beg for a tryout, but made the team.

Gaining 45 yards on the ground, Ahman Green became the Packers’ all-time leading rusher, breaking Jim Taylor’s career record of 8,207 yards. He broke the record on a 2-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Green has 8,208 yards in his Packers career.

Meanwhile, however, QB Aaron Rodgers threw for two touchdowns and ran for another but threw three interceptions. He was 17 / 35 for 266 yards.

TB rookie Josh Freeman, on the other hand, gave the struggling Buccaneers a great performance. Freeman passed for 205 yards and three touchdowns Sunday, with one pick. He was not very accurate, however, being 14 / 31.

The Packers fell to 4-3. Meanwhile, TB broke a losing streak extending to last season. They were the last team in the NFL to win this season (1-7). Raheem Morris, who replaced Jon Gruden after Tampa Bay went 0-4 in December and missed the playoffs last year, finally got his first win.
