Apple Formally Announces Black Friday Event

Apple has, as expected, has announced a Black Friday event. The formal announcement came this morning, following weeks of speculation over the exact savings to be offered to Apple fans on that day.

That doesn't necessarily meant that Apple specified their Black Friday day deals. All the always secretive company did was confirm there will in fact be such an event. You'll know when it begins when Apple takes their website down, as they always do, to "update" it for the sale.

Apple's Black Friday event will take place on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27th. The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally called Black Friday, and is the biggest retail shopping day of the year.

That's the top sales day for brick-and-mortar retailers, but for online shoppers, next Monday would be a bigger day. That's known as Cyber Monday, and is known as the biggest online shopping day of the year, because it is the first day people return to work. At that point, they can leech their company's broadband and do online shopping faster.

Apple's deals are unspecific. They mention that Apple's Black Friday deals will include iPod, iPhone and Mac divisions. It should be noted, however, that past Black Friday sales from Apple, specifically, were modest at best.
