Yowza can be considered a slang term for wow, but it's also a website. Although it's experiencing a bit of lag today, as people search for Black Friday online deals, it's still a great place to go. To be specific, that's Yowza!! with two exclamation points, and it delivers coupons straight to your iPhone or iPod touch.
Besides the fact that Yowza!! is currently only available on Apple's mobile devices, you should know that Yowza!! isn't a coupon aggregator. Unlike places like Coupon Mountain or Current Codes, Yowza!! works directly with retailers to get you Yowza!!-specific deals.
The Yowza!! app is free of charge in the App Store via iTunes or your iPhone or iPod touch. While those with Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, or Android devices might feel left out, the company says that once it has completed it's iPhone rollout, it will look at those other platforms.
Since these coupons are specific to Yowza!!, the company did want you might meet the uninformed salesperson or cashier who might not accept a coupon. While the company works with retailers to make sure this doesn't happen, it might, and Yowza!! says you can contact them if it does.
The Yowza!! app will use the GPS capability of the iPhone to determine your local deals. For example, it might deliver Pier One Deals, Sears deals, and more, depending on retailers in your areas.
When you find a deal you like, you take your iPhone to the retailer, and show the Yowza!! coupon the the cashier. He'll scan the barcode and you'll get the deal, assuming he is aware of how it works (as noted above).
Curious about how Yowza!! works? There's a video for that, and you can watch it here.
