Tiger Woods Says Failed Family And Admits Transgressions

As evidence continued to mount, Tiger Woods, the superstar golfer, has finally succumbed to pressure. He has admitted to what he calls "transgressions" on his website. The normally reticent and private golfer admitted to "letting his family down."

The straw that broke the camel's back came on Tuesday when a new woman emerged, claiming a different Tiger Woods affair from the Rachel Uchitel incident. In that case, it was Jaimee Grubbs, formerly from MTV's "Tool Academy," who claimed no less that 20 trysts with the superstar golfer. US Weekly claimed to have Tiger Woods text messages, and they have even produced evidence of a Tiger Woods voicemail left on Jaimee Grubbs' cell phone, which surfaced on their site and on media Wednesday.

The Tiger Woods voicemail to Jaimee Grubbs sounds panicky, as commenters on radio and at YouTube have said, and the consensus, listening to it, is that it is indeed Woods. While slightly cut-off at the start of the audio (from Opie and Anthony on Sirius XM), you can hear Woods say "This is Tiger."

The rest of the audio goes as follows:

I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that and just have it as a number on the voicemail. Just have it as your telephone number, OK? You gotta do this for me. Huge, Quickly. All right, bye.

According to US Magazine, which is on newsstands today, Jaimee Grubbs said she was 21 when she was first approached by Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub on April 13, 2007. The meeting “progressed into a clandestine on-and-off affair” that lasted nearly three years and included hundreds of text messages. In the story, Grubbs is quoted as saying, “I hope he can forgive me for doing this and I know he probably can’t. Whatever happens with Elin, I hope Tiger and I can reconnect and remain good friends.”

Whether or not this Tiger Woods voicemail to Jaimee Grubbs has anything to do with the rumored "domestic violence" or reckless Tiger Woods driving, whichever you prefer to believe, is unknown. The accident occurred last Friday at 2:25 AM when Tiger Woods left his house and ran into a fire hydrant, and then a tree.

Although Tiger Woods has only been cited with a $164 reckless driving offense, there was a widespread rumor that rather than Elin Woods seeing his accident and returning to the house to get a golf club, she instead was chasing his SUV with a golf club and pounding it. This is all conjecture, naturally, but initial reports were that both Elin and Tiger Woods admitted they had argued prior to the accident (though whether or not it was regarding any Tiger Woods affairs, or if it even happened, is unknown).

Tiger denied any domestic violence in his statement on his website. While admitting that he was guilty of past transgressions, he said that any rumors of violence with regards to Elin Woods were false. He did not elaborate on the details of his affairs in his statement, merely saying that he was sorry, and that he "let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart."

He emphasized also, what he has always said with regards to his private life, that it is private. He said that he would "strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves," and apologized to his fans, but that was the extent of the detail he gave.

Woods’ father-in-law, Thomas Nordegren was reached in Sweden on Wednesday. He too, requested privacy, as he said: “I don’t want to comment on this whatsoever.”
