Find Your Double With Coke Zero's Facebook Facial Profiler

They say everyone has a double. At least, they say that in movies and books. Coke Zero wants to find out if that's really true, at least among Facebook users.

Coke Zero's Facebook facial recognition app went live on Thursday. Calling it a "social experiment," Coke Zero calls it the Facial Profiler. It will use facial recognition to try to match you to another Facebook user.

To give it a try, you login to Facebook, upload a photo or take a picture with a webcam, and then align the image to an outline. You then mark the locations of your eyes with the editor, and the app starts searching its database of other users who have uploaded a picture. The more users who upload their pictures, the more chances you have for a match that makes sense.

Once you are matched, you are given the opportunity to connect with that user. The assumption is that since the user used the Facial Profiler in the first place, they will be open to connecting with their doppelganger.

Of course, since the Facial Profiler matches you to a twin, the odds of a love match are pretty small. In fact, you probably want it to be small. Anyone recall how much alike Joan and John Cusack are? It is, unfortunately, not a great look for Joan.

Check out the Facial Profiler yourself. Be prepared for a wait, though, as it is not a very speedy application.
