AT&T Presents BlackBerry Holiday Deals

Those who prefer "real" QWERTY keyboards as opposed to a touch-screen may want to take a look at some deals being offered by AT&T on BlackBerry phones. The deals, which offer 50 percent off BlackBerry smartphones, are just in time for the holidays.

As of Dec. 4th, customers can purchase any Research In Motion (RIM) BlackBerry in AT&T’s lineup of devices for half off. The selection of BB smartphones includes the BlackBerry Bold 9700 as well as the Bold 9000 and the Curve 8900, 8520, 8320 and 8310.

All the BlackBerry deals require a two-year commitment with a plan of $69.99 or more. Additionally, the 50 percent off isn't an instant rebate, but a mail-in rebate, one of the ones that consumers hate with a passion.

In addition to that, is a free Samsung Solstice offer, after a $50 mail-in rebate. Once again the deal requires a two-year service agreement, this time for a minimum $20 data or messaging plan. The Solstice, however, runs a priprietary OS, so add-on applications won't be something an end user should be expecting.

However, the Solstice features a Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, which includeds the ability to customize the phone with widgets. These offer quick access to favorite sites, such as Facebook and MySpace.

A final holiday promotion is an offer from HTC, which runs through the end of the year. Users who trade-in "eligible" devices can receive $100 toward an HTC smartphone. Examples of eligible devices for trade-in are the BlackBerry 7780 and 7750.
