Pete Carroll And Grad Student Allegations Denied

Recently fired Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis may be feeling sour grapes. What he said, when asked about Pete Carroll's iamge in the media, was bring up Pete Carroll living with a grad student in Malibu. Pete Carroll is the USC Trojans head football coach.

Is Pete Carroll shacking up with a grad student in Malibu? That is the allegation, and Charlie Weis described it as follows, in an interview with IrishIllustrated (those not fans of college football many not know that Notre Dame's team is known as the Fighting Irish). While speaking of Pete Carroll Grad Student rumors, Weis said:

You guys know about things that go on in different places. Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news. He’s doing it in Malibu and it’s not national news.

Charlie Weis didn't come out and say it in black and white, but it's darned close. He's basically implying that Pete Carroll is living with a grad student in Malibu. Carroll is married, and has three children in addition to a grandchild.

Meanwhile, Pete Carroll addressed the grad student rumors. Speaking to the L.A. Times, Carroll said in a telephone interview that he was told of the report by USC’s sports information director Tim Tessalone. “It’s untrue, it’s irresponsible, and it’s incredible he’d be talking about me like that,” Carroll said.

Whether or not the Pete Carroll grad student rumors are true or false, as evidenced by recent rumors about a certain pro golfer, it's obvious that people want to read about it. If it is untrue, those rumors actually verge on slander, as well.
