The latest Tiger Woods scandal update shows another hit to the golfer's wallet. Accenture has become the first Tiger Woods sponsor to completely drop the superstar golfer since revelations of his "infidelities" began, on Nov. 27th. Earlier, Gatorade said it was dropping the Tiger Focus drink, but claimed it had made the decision months ago.
In fact, on Saturday, Gillette said it would "limit" his role during his time of "healing." That "time" comes as the superstar golfer announced on Friday that he was taking an indefinite leave from golf, to focus on healing and his family.
Accenture has been a sponsor of Tiger Woods for six years. In a st statement, the company said that "For the past six years, Accenture and Tiger Woods have had a very successful sponsorship arrangement and his achievements on the golf course have been a powerful metaphor for business success in Accenture’s advertising. However, given the circumstances of the last two weeks, after careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising."
Woods had appeared in Accenture's print, television and online ads. In its marketing program, the company had set its marketing to show how Tiger Woods' embodied the spirit of Accenture. Its campaign included slogans such as "Go on. Be a Tiger," or "We know what it takes to be a Tiger."
Worse, in retrospect, Accenture's website once read: "Famous not only for his success on the golf course, Tiger Woods is equally renowned for his work ethic, focus and commitment to continual improvement."
This is the first major sponsor to completely drop Tiger Woods. Gillette's move is seen as a way to distance itself from Woods until (and if) the incident blows over.
It all began two weeks ago on Black Friday at 2:25 AM. Tiger Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant, and then a tree. Since then, his life has been surrounded by a number of announcements of affairs with women, including confirmed and unconfirmed affairs with:

Some analysts have stated that there will be a time when Tiger Woods once again has major sponsors, but that the time of him being the ultimate pitchman, based a lot on his "good guy" image, is over. That would be, in fact, the same as his "good guy" image: gone forever.
