It's done. There is no more to see here. The divorce between Jon and Kate Gosselin, late of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is final.
Kate Gosselin will be the primary caretaker of the couple's eight children. The couple has a nine-year-old twins as well as five-year-old sextuplets. It was earlier believed that the couple would finish 2009 as man and wife, and that the divorce would not be final until next year.
On Wednesday an arbitrator ruled how Jon, 32, and Kate, 34, would divide their assets. While most of those details remain confidential, Kate's attorney, Mark Momjian, confirmed that she will "will continue to reside with all eight of her children in the former marital home" in Wernersville, PA.
Kate Gosselin made a statement, through her lawyer's firm, about the divorce:
“I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the new year, focusing on the children. This has been a challenging transition for all of us.”
While TLC has said they have a series in the works centered about Kate Gosselin, it's unclear how that will all play out. Jon Gosselin has insisted the kids no longer face the cameras, and TLC has, at least for now, "no plans to shoot the kids (on camera)."
Meanwhile, Jon still has another court date upcoming. On Dec. 10, Jon was ordered by a Maryland judge to stop making media appearances. TLC had claimed Jon Gosselin had been violating a contract with the network by appearing elsewhere.
