LA Coroner Believes Murphy's Death Natural

The big question of the day is how did Brittany Murphy die? The answer may not be answered for some time, and if Simon Monjack, her husband were to have his wish, perhaps not at all. The LA coroner's initial report points to natural causes, however.

Many pundits have answered the question to how did Brittany Murphy die with their own answer: drugs, or perhaps an eating disorder fueled by drug use. After all, Brittany Murphy had been the subject of such rumors earlier in her career. She later denied those rumors.

Despite all this, LA's Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says the cause of Murphy's death "appears to be natural." Winter said that Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom Sunday morning. Authorities are looking into her medical history.

At a press conference, Winter said,

"It appears to be natural at this time. We do understand she had a bit of medical history. We’ll be probably doing an autopsy tomorrow or Tuesday. The final results will be pending toxicology and further tests.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 8 AM PST Sunday morning at the west Hollywood hills home Brittany Murphy shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack. Transported to Cedars-Sinai hospital, Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead.

It has already been reported that Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest. The answer to the question of how did Brittany Murphy die remains to be answered, once and for all, after the upcoming autopsy.
