On the same day that Disney theme parks celebrated Christmas with the Disney Christmas Parade 2009, it turns out the family-friendly parks are going a bit adult in some of their jokes. Disneyland's California Adventure Park in Anaheim has written a Woods joke into its Aladdin show.
The genie in the show says that he had to remind Woods 15 times that he was unable to make someone fall in love with him, it was reported by the Los Angeles Times. One has to be concerned about the number of questions that might come from children to parents, and how parents will answer them.
Disney if just the latest to make jokes at the expense of Tiger Woods after his Black Friday car crash, which was apparently the result of a domestic dispute. Far worse has been the aftermath, as the dispute with wife Elin Nordegren Woods was over his reported affairs. Woods has since admitted to "infidelities," though he has not admitted to a number.
However, until now the number of notches in Tiger Woods' golf shaft number at least 14, as that many women have claimed to have had affairs with the world's number one golfer. As such, Woods has lost one sponsor and seen several others quit using his image, with the excuse that they are attempting to respect his desire for privacy during his hiatus from pro golf, which he recently announced.
Tiger Woods announced his break from golf as a way to heal with his family, but since then a number of rumors have arisen that Elin Woods has already decided to divorce him. Meanwhile, his poll numbers continue to drop, showing that his days as the biggest marketing icon in sports may be over.
A new CNN popularity poll taken last week shows Woods with a 34 percent favorable rank and 49 percent unfavorable rating. Interestingly, about two-thirds of African-Americans gave Woods a favorable mark in the poll in comparison to only 28 percent of Caucasians.
In a USA Today / Gallup poll issued last week, Woods managed a 33 percent favorable rating. Another poll, a Washington Post / ABC News poll released last week shows a similar drop in support. In the WashPo / ABC News poll, Woods had an unfavorable rating of 43 percent in comparison to the aforementioned 49 percent in the CNN poll.
One question that has emerged from all these polls: does anyone care, aside from sponsors, that is? At this point, it seems that Tiger Woods' ship has sailed.
