2010 Pro Bowl Now Super Bowl Warmup: Date, Time and Changed Rosters

The NFL's Pro Bowl, its all-star game, has always followed the Super Bowl. However, this season, for the first time, it's in the week between the week between the Super Bowl and the Conference Championship games. That's created changes in the roster, and some disappointment in the location.

The Pro Bowl was always held in Hawaii, but this year, it's held in Florida. Ouch, for those looking forward to a trip to Hawaii on the NFL (not that any of these players need financial help).

The Pro Bowl will be played on January 31st at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN, at Sun Life Stadium in South Florida. While the Pro Bowl date and Pro Bowl time have changed, one thing is not different: the Pro Bowl is considered the lamest all-star game of them all, mostly because players and coaches desperately try to avoid injury.

There's no reason to look askance at that. Football is a brutal port. Still, because of that, attendance and TV ratings have always been poor for the event.

This year, given the fact that the Super Bowl occurs after the Pro Bowl, any Pro Bowlers who are named from the Colts or Saints will, of course, be absent. Substitutes will their place.

In addition, many of the players who were named to the Pro Bowl have opted out, for injury reasons. That reduces the star quality still further. After all, those named, even if they do not attend, still get paid.

Remember, 2010 NFL Pro Bowl time is 7:30 PM ET on ESPN, tomorrow, Jan. 31st. Here is the current Pro Bowl roster:
