Repeat Victory In Wing Bowl 2010

It has no affiliation with the Super Bowl, but nevertheless the Wing Bowl 2010 was held on Friday. In a repeat performance, Johnny "Super" Squibb won the day, with 238 wings downed.

That is correct: 238 wings. Wing Bowl 2010 is all about who can eat the most chicken wings in a 30 minute sitting.

The Wing Bowl's 2010 version was hosted by AM 610 WIP, in Philadelphia, as it is every year. The Wing Bowl was started by Philadelphia talk-radio hosts Al Morganti and Angelo Cataldi in 1993.

In 2009, the winner was Super Squibb with 203 wings. The runner-up was Not Rich, with 180 wings. This year was more lopsided: Super Squibb downed the aforementioned 238 wings, with Not Rich only downing 145.

While 238 is a great number of wings eaten in Wing Bowl 2010, it's not the record. That record is held by the person currently thought of as the number one pro eater in the world: Joey Chestnut. In 2008 he downed 241 wings.

As it has been since 2004, Wing Bowl 2010 was held in Wachovia Center. As of 2009, professional competitive eaters are no longer allowed to participate in the Wing Bowl.
