Alec Baldwin Hospitalized, But Fine

Alec Baldwin, 51, was hospitalized early Thursday morning. According to reports, he was hospitalized after a girl believed to be his daughter called 911 at 12:10 AM. The actor is reportedly fine.

An Emmy-winning actor for the NBC sitcom "30 Rock," Alec Badwin was rushed to a Manhattan hospital Wednesday night after a 911 call which said he was "unresponsive." Further reports indicate it was all a "misunderstanding."

Apparently, the actor and his daughter, who are known to have a somewhat explosive relationship, argued. A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that Ireland, 14, his daughter, told 911 he had threatened to take pills. When he was unresponsive, she called 911, and Alec Baldwin was hospitalized for a short time.

In a statement released Thursday, Alec Baldwin's rep, Matthew Hiltzik,
said: "This was a misunderstanding on one person's part. Alec (Baldwin) was quickly released from the hospital, he's completely fine and will be at work today."

Alec Baldwin and Ireland's relationship reached a publicity peak in 2008, when he berated her in a phone message leaked to the media. In the message, Baldwin called Ireland, a "rude, thoughtless little pig." He left the message when she did not answer her phone during a court-appointed and pre-arranged phone call.

Alec Baldwin later said he apologized to Ireland. He blamed the custody battle he was having with ex-wife Kim Basinger in part for the anger he was feeling when he left the voicemail.

Alec Baldwin, hospitalization aside, is scheduled to co-host the the 82nd Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on March 7, along with Steve Martin. In January, both he and "30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey won Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards for best acting in a comedy series and he also won a Golden Globe Award for best actor in a TV series, comedy or musical. Last September, Baldwin won his second consecutive Emmy for Lead Actor in a Comedy ("30 Rock").
