Disgraced and former Congressman Anthony Weiner now has a new Weiner to show off, but he most likely won't be posting any images of this Weiner on Twitter: he and his wife Huma Abedin now have a son, Jordan Zain Weiner, who weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz. at birth.
Anthony Weiner, 47, had been considered one of the House of Representatives’ strongest liberal voices, serving in New York's 9th District. However, he was forced to resign his seat in disgrace after he Tweeted an image of his crotch to all his followers. He had meant it to be a direct message to one person, Gennette Nicole Cordova, a 21-year-old Seattle woman who had followed the seven-term Democrat on the micro-blogging site.
That mistake ended Anthony Weiner's promising political future. Initially, Weiner claimed that his Twitter account had been hacked, and called it the work of a "prankster." Eventually, he was forced to come clean, and admit what he had done, and also admit that he had been done similar acts with five other women.
Originally, Weiner said he would not resign from the House of Representatives. Eventually, however, he was forced to. His seat was won by a Republican, Bob Turner, in a special election. At the time of the scandal, Weiner was considered a top contender to succeed Michael Bloomberg as Mayor of New York City, in the 2013 election.
At the same time, and at the same press conference, Weiner stated that he had never had sex outside of his marriage. At the time of the incident, Weiner and Abedin had been married for less than a year. The incident occurred on Memorial Day weekend, and the couple had been wed in July of 2010.
Despite the scandal, Huma Abedin, reported to be between 34 and 35 by Wikipedia, stood by her man. Ironically, news of her pregnancy was revealed just weeks after news of the scandal emerged.
She is a deputy chief of staff and aide to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton During Clinton's 2008 run for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Abedin served as traveling chief of staff and "body woman" for Clinton.
Jordan Zain Weiner was born 10 days earlier than his expected birth date of Jan. 1, 2012, on Wednesday night.
