We're thinking this film will not even qualify for a C rating, much less a B rating, as it attempts to bring back Osama bin Laden, as one of the undead, a zombie.
It's a low budget film that will eventually reach screens, possibly reaching screens as early as the summer. The movie is called ... wait for it ... “Osombie: The Axis of Evil Dead."
Kynan Griffin, the executive producer of the movie, told ABC News that the script was “too good to pass up. We’ve just had a lot of fun with it. We had some great special effects makeup people that had done a lot of Hollywood work. Lots of actions, lots of zombie violence.”
The film stars such stellar actors and actresses as Corey Sevier (Chip), Eve Mauro (Dusty), Jasen Wade (Derek), and Danielle Chuchran (Tomboy). We're not sure if Tomboy is a nickname, a handle for soldier, or is just saying she plays a tomboy.
In the movie Osama bin Laden rises from his watery grave (you'll recall he was "buried at sea") leading an army of zombie terrorists in a jihad of the undead. Yep, it sounds like a real winner. With that, a NATO Special Forces team (what, not Navy Seals!?) speeds to the site in order to try to halt not just Zombie bin Laden and his undead forces, but to stop the infection from spreading to more terrorists.
Feedback thus far has been "overwhelmingly positive," said Griffin."We have the view that we are not going to please everyone with any film, but with this we know there are a group of people who will love it and those who will not love it."
Here is a synopsis of the "plotline."
“The story follows Dusty (Eve Mauro), a yoga instructor from Colorado (a natural for battling the undead), who is on a desperate rescue mission to save her crazy brother Derek, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced Osama Bin Laden is still alive, despite having been buried at sea.
“In Afghanistan, Dusty falls in with a team of NATO Special Forces on a secret assignment. Turns out Derek is not so crazy after all, and that Osama has returned from his watery grave and is making an army of zombie terrorists. When the group crashes headlong into the growing zombie apocalypse, Dusty and the troops must find and destroy the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the rest of the world.”
The filming was completed in Utah in November of last year. It is being released by Arrowstorm Entertainment.
Filmmakers are also hoping to raise $15,000 through the website Kickstarter. According to Wikipedia, "Kickstarter is an online threshold pledge system for funding creative projects. Kickstarter has funded a diverse array of endeavors,[1] ranging from indie film and music to journalism, solar energy technology and food-related projects."
Those who support through Kickstarter could receive a signed DVD, have their name listed in IMDB, or even have a film producer fly to their home for a private screening.
Watch the trailer below from “Osombie: The Axis of Evil Dead.” Be afraid, be very afraid, but not of the scenes of the movie but that anyone bothered to make it at all. What is interesting is that the movie trailer currently has over 150K views, meaning it is verging on going viral.
