Back for a limited time: The '20 percent off iTunes' deal

It's back: the 20 percent off of iTunes deal is available again at eBay.

To be clear, it's not quite that simple. Instead, you buy $50 iTunes gift cards for only $40 apiece. The deal, available here, is good for the U.S. iTunes store only.

The deal has a purchase limit of three iTunes Gift Cards per eBay user ID, while supplies last. At the time of this writing, there have been 3,677 cards purchased, in the past 24 hours. You can increase that to 3,680, actually. We purchased three of the cards ourselves.

As we warn about every eBay deal, a close look at the vendor is always handy. The seller, giftcardmall, has 50259 feedback posts, with 99.4 percent positive feedback. What that many deals -- or at least, that many feedback reviews -- there is virtually no way to have a 100 percent positive rating. Thus, we would treat this deal as gold.

Here is how the eBay deal is described.

Give the gift of one-stop entertainment. Each card includes a code redeemable for music, movies, TV shows, games, apps, and more on the iTunes Store, the iBookstore, the App Store, and the Mac App Store. Recipients can acess their content on an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, and watch or listen on a computer - Mac or PC.

There are only limited quantities of the cards, available. We can attest to the fact that the deal is still live, at the time of this writing.

All the items sold are plastic gift cards, as the vendor is unable to email customers the gift card number or numbers at this time. However, the description says that customers should look out for the feature to be allowed in the future.

Shipping is free for the gift cards purchased in the deal. All gift cards are shipped using USPS Critical Mail. For those unaware, as were we, Critical Mail was launched in January of 2011.

To qualify to use Critical Mail, shippers must have a customer commitment agreement with the United States Postal Service and mail 5,000 or more Critical Mail letters and / or flats during a single calendar year.

Critical Mail is charged one price across all destination zones regardless of weight — $3.50 for letters and $4.25 for larger flat-sized envelopes. Critical Mail is a sub class of Priority Mail®, and is available for automation-compatible letters and flats.

According to the eBay deal, all items sold -- again, as of this writing -- are estimated to arrive between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30.
