As you might expect of any proud parents, the parents of Blue Ivy Carter love posting images of their daughter online, with the only difference being that the couple who are Blue Ivy's proud parents are Jay-Z and Beyonce.
Blue Ivy Carter was born on January 7, 2012 to parents Jay-Z (or Shawn Corey Carter, his birth name) and Beyonce. Since then, the world has continued to spin, but little does little Blue Ivy know what her birth has wrought.
Not only have her parents gone to the trouble of trademarking their daughter's name (or at least, starting the process by filing the paperwork), her name alone has been the source of much speculation. She is, at least perhaps until the birth of any royal heir, from the family of Prince William and the former Kate Middleton, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
A handwritten note, scanned and uploaded to a Tumblr blog set up for Blue Ivy Carter, accompanied the images. It said:
"We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time in our lives.
"-The Carter Family"
This is an interesting approach to unveiling Blue Ivy Carter's first pictures to the world. The family could have --- and it has been done before by others --- sold her images to some publication, or done a magazine spread as other celebrities have done in the past..
Instead, Beyonce and Jay-Z have shared the images online, quietly, on a Tumblr blog, sans even online advertising. It is indeed a classy and unusual way to reveal a high profile infant to the world.
Jay-Z and Beyond were married on April 4, 2008. Blue Ivy Carter was born on January 7, 2012. Just two days later, on January 9, 2012, Jay-Z released the song "Glory", which was dedicated to the couple's child, on his social website LifeandTimes.com. Blue Ivy's cries were included at the end of the song and she was officially credited on the song as "B.I.C," meaning at 2 days old she became the youngest person ever to appear on a Billboard chart when "Glory" debuted on the Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 74.
