If you watched "The X-Files" you may recall that Special Agent (we always wondered what the difference between a special and a regular agent was) Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, was implanted with an alien chip, and now Fran Drescher, actress, says the same thing.
The difference between the tale of Gillian Anderson and Fran Drescher is that Anderson was acting, portraying Dana Scully, and Fran Drescher says it happened to her in real life. Drescher, 54, is most notable for starring in the long-running sitcom "The Nanny," for which she was nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. It's quite possible this new story will change that.
Drescher said, in an interview with the Huffington Post,
"You know, it's funny because Peter (Fran's ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson) and I both saw [aliens] before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads. We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It's the exact same scar on the exact same spot."
Once again, that sounds a lot like "The X-Files." In that series, Dana Scully (in the third season) discovers that a microchip was implanted in the back of her neck. After having it removed, she developed cancer in the fourth season.
If we wished to continue the coincidences, we could note that Drescher is a uterine cancer survivor.
Ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson (the couple was married from 1978 - 1999) doesn't necessarily believe the alien abduction theory. When questioned, he says that says Fran Drescher got the small scar on her hand from a a drill bit or burning herself holding a hot cup of water. Fran however, disagrees. She said,
"I said to him, that's what the aliens programmed us to think. But really, that's where the chip is."
Is the Huffingon Post, where the story first appeared, going tabloid? On Friday, Drescher herself Tweeted, "Must b a slow wk in huffingtonpost 2 rite an alien abduction story on me! R they goin tabloid?" She did not confirm or deny the story itself, but she is a comedienne, although we don't know if she ever did any writing, herself.
