'I have an army.' 'We have a Hulk' - new Avengers super-sized trailer [VIDEO]

Avengers

Those who saw the Avenger's Super Bowl teaser trailer, meaning the one meant to attract folks to watch the actual Super Bowl ad, hopefully tuned in to see the trailer in the Super Bowl, and Marvel Comics and Walt Disney Pictures hope you went still further.

After all, "Avengers" fans, they are superheroes, and you didn't just stop watching with the 30-second ad shown during Super Bowl XLVI, did you? If you tuned out too soon, you might have missed the URL shown at the end of the ad, which shows the longer version (one minute) of the trailer. "Avengers Assemble!"

It was good enough to see Tony Stark (Iron Man, played by Robert Downey, Jr.) call Steve Rogers (Captain America, played by Chris Evans) "Captain," showing Captain America the deference given to him in the animated series, "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," shown on Disney XD. It was far cooler to see the exchange between Asgardian god Loki and Tony Stark.

Stark, pouring himself a drink, says to Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, "The Avengers. Earth's mightiest heroes, type thing." To that , Loki responds, "I have an army," to which Stark shoots back with "We have a Hulk."

Cut to a scene of Hulk-assured destruction.

Marvel's superhero group (or one of them), will see its own movie in May of 2012. Starring in the film will be Captain America / Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), The Black Widow / Nastash Romanoff (from Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson), Iron Man / Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye / Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and the Hulk / Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo / Lou Ferrigno as the voice of the Hulk).

All of those Marvel characters, including Hawkeye (although he appeared in the movie "Thor" in just a cameo role") have appeared as part of the Marvel Universe in theaters already. Technically, Nick Fury is the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate in the Marvel Comics Universe) and not really an Avenger.

The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012, in 3D, IMAX, and (naturally) 2D.

Here's that longer super-sized version for super-hero fans.

I, for one, am glad Edward Norton got replaced as Hulk. He didn't even WANT to do the Avengers. Plus, he was a diva. Also, I want to know who Loki's army is. I think it's the Badoon. With the way they upgrade people's looks in the movie, it fits. Plus, Joss said it isn't the Kree, Skrull, or Chitauri. Either way, I'm so excited for this movie I could pee!!
