The accident occurred when the 25-year-old actress was on the way to her set on Friday. She was taken, as a precaution to the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, Calif. on Friday. However, she was released less than two hours later, according to her publicist, Steve Honig. Honig said that "She is fine," adding alswo that Lohan "is already headed back to the set to resume work. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident."
Despite the fact that no one was reported seriously injured, Lohan's Porsche was totaled. She was driving her black Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica when she slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler at about noon. The passenger window of the car was shattered and the bumper was pulled completely off her car.
Police reported that neither Lohan, nor the truck driver involved, were under the influence of alcohol. What's interesting, though, is that according to sources, the Porsche was not even Lohan's, but instead a rental vehicle. Eyewitnesses spoke to TMZ and said that both Lohan and her assistant, who had occupied the passenger seat, were bleeding and bruised. Both were conscious after the accident.
Lohan was driving, and she claimed the accident was not her fault, and that the truck cut her off.
On Saturday, though, the truck driver, named only as "James," came forward and denied any fault, saying that multiple witnesses saw Lohan's Porsche "flying" down the highway. James said he couldn't have cut Lohan off as he was already in the right lane when the incident occurred. Furthermore, he said, Lohan's entourgage tried to bribe him in an effort to keep him quiet.
According to James, when he approached the Porsche to exchange information, the driver of a Cadiallac Escalade, which had been trailing Lohan and which is believed tto have been carrying people from her Lifetime movie, “Liz and Dick,” offered him cash on the spot. “We can go to the bank,” the Escalade driver said, according to James.
We assume this will not be the last we hear of this, as Lohan has a history of auto - and sometimes alcohol - related incidents. Two in 2007 led to probation which also led to brief stints in jail, after she "violated" some of the terms of it.
