The rarest of the rare: An iPad deal from a reputable merchant

It is rare -- or downright impossible -- to find an iPad deal from a reputable vendor, and thus, despite this deal being on eBay, we have to point it out.

The deal, here at eBay, includes a 16GB wi-fi only fourth generation iPad in either black or white color. In addition, buyers will get a Spektrum Folio case.

The total for the deal is $449.00 and includes free shipping. This is $50 off the normal price of the wi-fi only 16GB iPad 4 alone, sans the case. In addition, we'd consider the merchant reputable. The seller, blutekusa, has 46680 ratings and 99.5% Positive feedback.

For those still antsy about the process, don't forget the eBay Buyer Protection offered on this product. It covers not just the price of the iPad, but also original shipping (which is this case, is free, but should be remembered for other purchases).

There is a limited, but undisclosed quantity available. This is a Buy It Now sale, not an auction. Sales above the "limit" will be cancelled, the auction says.

Here is how the item is described (in part):

Apple iPad with Retina Display

4th Generation - 16GB - WiFi + Bonus Spektrum Folio Case

Black Model: MD510LL/A
White Model: MD513LL/A

It’s brilliant, in every sense of the word.

Pick up the iPad with Retina display and suddenly, it’s clear. You’re actually touching your photos, reading a book, playing the piano. Nothing comes between you and what you love. That’s because the fundamental elements of iPad — the display, the A6X chip, the cameras, the wireless connection — all work together to create the best possible experience. And they make iPad capable of so much more than you ever imagined.

To be clear, this ships with the Lightning connector, a 10.1-inch Retina display, and iOS 6+, as well as with the current iPad processor, the A6X. While this comes with iOS 6, Apple should be releasing an update to iOS 7 for supported devices (including the iPad 4) in the near future, and the upgrade will come either over-the-air or via iTunes, depending on the user's choice.

Apple is holding a press event on Tuesday, Sept. 10. It is expected that the event will cover iPhones -- a flagship iPhone 5S and a lower-cost iPhone 5C.

It is not expected that Apple will announce the iPad 5 or iPad mini 2 at the event. There have been rumors that Apple will launch the iPad 5 as soon as October though.

Still, the rarity of these iPad deals make this one that you should look at.
