It's a bizarre story, and we're hoping / assuming that the hit series "The Walking Dead," along with other zombie-centric movies that have been hits, of late, such as "Zombieland," "28 Days Later," and sort forth, had nothing to do with it.
A strange assault off of Miami, Fla.'s MacArthur Causeway forced a police officer to open fire, killing one man and leaving the dead perpetrator's victim injured and hospitalized.
Miami city police said the "straight out of a horror movie" incident began on Saturday afternoon at about 2 p.m. EDT when an officer responded to reports of two men fighting in the bike path of the Biscayne Boulevard off-ramp, alongside the Miami Herald's parking garage. The Herald got a good view of the incident, and according to the paper, the officer observed a naked man eating, yes eating, another man's face.
As opposed to being related to zombies or zombie movies / television shows, this is more likely to be the result of mental illness, or perhaps drugs. Still, we are sure that fans of "The Walking Dead" are sure to take notice.
The officer reportedly saw the naked man chewing on another man’s face (also naked), and issued a command via his loud speaker for him to back away. However, the man did not halt his attack, but instead "growled" at police and returned to eating.
As the man continued the assault, officers shot him. The man seemed nearly superhuman, as he appeared to shrug off the bullet. Police were forced to continue firing, until the perpetrator was dead (indeed, fans of zombie movies will note that it is unclear if it took a head shot to take out the attacker).
According to reports, the man ate his victim’s nose and eyeballs. Additional information said that the man had virtually no face and was basically unidentifiable.
Police believe both the victim and the attacker were homeless people. They theorize that the attacker might have been suffering from what they termed "cocaine psychosis." In that scenario, the person affected is in a drug-induced craze; the body is baked from inside as his internal temperature rises, and the affected often strip off their clothes in an attempt to cool themselves.
In a sense, the attacker was a zombie. The term is often applied to a person who seems "bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli."
The video reports below include surveillance footage that some may find disturbing.

I was noticing that the chewed up guy laid there several minutes before anyone went in to help him physically. I'm just wondering if that was because this was so sickening that they police and I presume EMTs just got so sick when they would try to get near? I know they see some gruesome things, and I am not trying to make light of this by any means, I noticed one guy jump over the wall and turn in the opposite direction. I know if I saw what I think those people saw, I would get so physically sick I would have a hard time also, and was wondering if they was why the guy laid they in pain so long. I would have been puking my guts out.

My name is Dominico and I agree with you 100%! they should have left the footage intact and un-eddited, and why did the camera "black out", and also why did the cell phone recording come up missing off the internet an hour after it was posted? I smell somethin' fishy. and by the way, did you hear that they just had another attack a feuw days ago?! this time it was 4 attackers! now ive known some pretty heavy drugies, and NOTHING like this ever happened! not to mention that they never "stripped because they were baking from the inside out", even when they died of a slow overdose from constant exposure w/o time to let their system flush out the toxins! somethin's up, and i don't like it!

A gruesome yet unrelated event thats brushed under the carpet what i want to know is what about the guy who's in hospital potentially infected. Who is keeping watch on what could potentially be ground zero for the zombie apocalypse. What if more are already infected spreading in the unseen ranks of homeless drug addicts. as for thinking before you talk, great advice. but maybe you should do your research before you post. in order for the drugs to be out of his system after 2-3 days, his body would have to still be functioning normally. dead bodies do not metabolize. yes it will break down as the body decays and it wont be as strong, but it will still be there. so no need for the dead man to piss in a cup as you put it. it will be there in his tissue. in order for drugs (or anything you put in your body) to leave the body, your body must break it down and eliminate it, whether it be as fuel or excreting it (like pissing, sweating ...ect.), the body still has to be alive to break it down. and yes i agree if it really is a zombie outbreak, or any kind of outbreak for that matter, the police will try to keep it under wraps.
