On Friday, Oct. 11, Cowboom has a deal on used iPhone 4S smartphones, off-contract and with larger storage tiers than can be currently purchased new.

For those unaware of Cowboom, it is a Best Buy brand, so you can trust it. The deal is for a 16GB AT&T iPhone 4S. While refurbished and used, it is twice the capacity of a currently available iPhone 4S, whic is limited to 8GB of internal storage (and as most know, there is no way to add additional storage via a microSD card on any iDevice).

In addition, the pricing "starts at" $240.99. A customer can search for the best available, which may or may not be priced higher than the $240.99 price. That price is less than half than the cost of a new iPhone 4S off-contract, which is $450. When searching at the time of this writing the price offered is just that, $240.99.

These devices are:

  • Pre-owned
  • Fully functional
  • May show limited signs of use
  • May be missing parts or accessories
  • May have dents or scratches

The unit brought up by the search is described as follows:

What's Included:
Apple iPhone 4s 16GB AT&T - Black
Not Included:
AC Adapter, USB Cable, Apple earphones with remote and mic, SIM Card Tool, SIM Tray, Software, Owners Manuals

Item Location:

On a high level, the iPhone 4S is described (by Apple) as follows: The iPhone 4S features a powerful dual-core A5 chip with faster graphics for browsing the Web, switching between apps, gaming and more. The 8.0MP camera boasts advanced optics and shoots 1080p HD video. Ask Siri, a voice-activated intelligent assistant, to make calls, send texts, set reminders and more. Features the iOS 5 operating system with its easy-to-use interface, rock-solid stability and extended battery life. Use with iCloud to store your digital content and wirelessly push it to all your devices.

It does not support LTE.

It is however, capable of being upgraded to the latest Apple iOS version, 7.
