Samsung releases first official Galaxy Tab commercial

Samsung Galaxy Tab commercial

In addition to announcing the Samsung Galaxy Tab at IFA in Berlin, Samsung on Thursday released the first official Galaxy Tab commercial. Typical of ads nowadays, it's probably getting its first views on YouTube.

Samsung pokes at iPad in Galaxy Tab Ad

It's a 30 second spot, and somehow it feels somewhat Apple-ish. What we mean by that is that the ad is very upbeat and lively. Key talking points: optimized email environment, large display, full web browsing experience (pointing at iPad's, and iAnything's, lack of Flash support), full e-reading solutions, and complete communications solution (pointing to no FF-camera on the iPad ... no camera at all, actually).

The final line, and probably their tagline for what's bound to be an extensive advertising push: "More possibilities on the go: Samsung Galaxy Tab." Those wanting as much information as possible are encouraged to go to Samung's official Galaxy Tab site, here.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the company's 7" tablet, running Android 2.2 (Froyo). It will be released later this year, with the same 1GHz processor as the Galaxy S line of smartphones, with a 1024 x 600 TFT-LCD screen (sorry, no Super AMOLED as on the Galaxy S), and the normal host of features we're seeing on tablets and smartphones nowadays. Oh, and indeed, it is a phone.
