Survivor: South Pacific is over, with the 23rd season of the CBS reality TV series settling on its "sole survivor," this season's Survivor winner.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, Survivor: South Pacific came to its inevitable conclusion. With six players left, three of whom would face the jury, it was another ultimate episode for the long running reality TV series.

The six remaining players were Albert, Sophie, Rick, Brandon, and all-stars Ozzy, and Coach (who was pegged to make the final three by just about every "pre-game" analysis of the final episode). The winner, it turns out, was ...

Well, we would be remiss if we didn't stretch things out a bit further. If you're wondering how things began this season, here's how Wikipedia describes it:

"The season premiered on September 14, 2011, at 8:00 pm Eastern time with a 90-minute debut. Sixteen new castaways, divided into two tribes, Savaii and Upolu, were brought back to Samoa to compete in the 23rd season of Survivor. They were joined by two all-stars, Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth and Benjamin "Coach" Wade. Ozzy and Coach drew eggs containing either red and blue paint to see which tribe they would join. Ozzy joined Savaii and Coach joined Upolu. Coach and Ozzy immediately faced-off in a Tower of Hanoi reward challenge for their respective tribes, where Ozzy emerged victorious. After Coach was defeated by Ozzy in a head-to-head battle, Edna became Coach's only ally. However, Coach quickly forged bonds within his tribe, eventually forming an alliance consisting of him, Albert, Brandon, Sophie, and Rick. Christine openly searched for the hidden immunity idol but came up short and instead made herself a target."

The final three were Sophie Clarke, 22, of Willsboro, NY; Albert Destrade, 26, of Plantation, FL; and Benjamin "Coach" Wade, 39, of Susanville, CA.

Here's how the final vote went:
The Final Vote

The first vote - COACH.
The second vote- SOPHIE.
The third vote - COACH.
The fourth vote - SOPHIE.
The fifth vote - COACH.
The sixth vote - SOPHIE.
The seventh vote - SOPHIE.
The eighth vote - SOPHIE.

Sophie Clarke, 22, of Willsboro, NY is the Survivor: South Pacific Winner. It's a deserving win. During the course of the Survivor: South Pacific finale she won her third individual immunity challenge, which was more than any other player.

The finale packed one duel, two tribal councils, the final jury vote and the requisite (necessary) reunion into three hours of riveting reality TV. Of course, the word riveting is in the eye of the beholder.

On to the next Survivor season.
