Twitter Evidence Points to a Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Split [Updated]

Are Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher on the outs? It's a question raised now that questions of a possible Kutcher affair have been posed, along with a lack of Tweets from Moore, who usually is quite vociferous on the social media site.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have been married for six years. She's 48, and he's 33, and that age difference has never seemed to be an issue, until now.

The reports that have surfaced are still in the unconfirmed stage, but the Los Angeles Times has written about it, giving the rumor some sense of credibility. Essentially, the rumors are that Kutcher had a fling with a 23-year-old woman named Sara Leal. Worse, the report goes, the tryst happened on Sept. 24, during an alcohol-filled boys’ night out at a San Diego nightclub. Sept. 24 happens to be Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's anniversary, and in this case the aforementioned sixth one.

Star Magazine said that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have been living apart for months. The cover story says it will be a $290 million divorce, so it's probably a good thing that Kutcher just signed on to "Two and a Half Men." On the other hand, Moore is reaching the age when it becomes more difficult for actresses to find roles.

Star says they have been told by a "source" that "Ashton and Demi have separated and the marriage is over. The relationship ended because of Ashton's serial cheating." Another source said, "Demi just couldn't take it anymore. She didn't deserve to live that way. It's a painful time for Demi."

Sara Leal' s name first surfaced when TheDirty.com said it received an email from a friend of Leal's that read, "I'm sick to my stomach over what happened last Friday night. Like most people on earth I worshiped Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore until Ashton Kutcher (expletive) ed my friend Sara Leal." Reportedly, Leal has now retained a top Hollywood attorney and gone into seclusion, with one report saying Leal is demanding $250,000 for a chance at her story.

Although the LA Times pointed to Moore's lack of Tweeting as an indication of discomfit, since they wrote their article (and at the time of this writing, late afternoon PDT), Moore has Tweeted twice, both times for charitable causes. There was a large gap between Tweets on the 27th and 28th, though. In the past, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have been flirtatious and "lovey dovey" with each other on Twitter.

More Twitter evidence came in the cryptic Tweet on Sept. 23 that said, "When We are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger. - Epictetus" In addition, three days later, Moore posted a sad-looking picture of herself with the caption: "I see through you." Earlier, Moore tweeted she was "trying to find the light I lost."

More than Twitter though, is the fact that earlier this week, Moore, 48, walked the red carpet solo at the premiere of "Five."

It's not the first such public accusation against Kutcher. In 2010, he was accused with having an affair with 21-year-old Brittney Jones. Jones claimed the two of them had sex on a couch, but Kutcher denied the claims. Jones added that Kutcher ended their fling on the second "meeting."

Update: The latest Tweet in the Twitter "battle" came from Ashton Kutcher, who Tweeted “When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME” along with a link to the Public Enemy song “Don’t Believe the Hype.”
