Three high energy ballets open the season with sparkle and verve. Celts is to ballet what Riverdance is to Broadway- step dancing on pointe to the music of The Chieftains. An exuberant and rousing opening weekend with Orlando Ballet.
Shake It Up revives the music of The Cars, the ‘70s rock ‘n roll group with Round and Round, Shake It Up, My Best Friend’s Girl and more. This clever ballet was commissioned by Bruce Marks and Bruce Wells in 1988 for the 10th anniversary of Faneuil Hall Market Place in Boston.
The Envelope is a farcical and hysterical romp in which the dancers are pitted against a renegade piece of stationery. This ballet is choreographed by David Parsons with music by Rossini and re-staged by Orlando Ballet on pointe for the first time. Set designs by Paul Fiumedoro.
