Skybus Airlines, OSU, To Let Fans Follow The Buckeyes

Skybus airlines adds extra service to Seattle area for Sept. 15 OSU-Washington game; 10 Skybus seats for $10 available; passengers can also buy football game tickets.

Skybus Airlines – Columbus' hometown airline and an official sponsor of Ohio State athletics – is teaming up with The Ohio State University to give Buckeye fans a unique opportunity to “Follow the Buckeyes to the Great Northwest.”

Skybus will add additional service to its Bellingham, WA destination to give OSU fans a nonstop flight along with access to game tickets for Ohio State’s Sept. 15 game against the University of Washington in Seattle.

Skybus airlines will add an extra flight from Port Columbus to Bellingham International Airport on Friday, Sept. 14, and an extra flight from Bellingham to Columbus on Sunday, Sept. 16. The OSU-Washington game will be played at 3:30 p.m. EDT (12:30 p.m. PDT) on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Reservations for the Skybus Airlines flight will go on sale Friday, Aug. 17, at 6 a.m. exclusively at www.skybus.com.

Ohio State will make one game ticket available for purchase for every Skybus airline ticket purchased on this special Skybus flight. Game tickets are limited; to qualify for purchasing a game ticket, passengers must make their Skybus flight reservation for this added flight no later than midnight on Friday, Aug. 24. Passengers will receive instructions for purchasing game tickets by e-mail on the same day their Skybus reservation is confirmed.

The special flight – Skybus Flight #45 -- will depart Columbus at 9:41 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, arriving in Bellingham at 11:18 a.m. Pacific time. The return flight on Sunday - Skybus Flight #27 - departs Bellingham at 11:43 a.m. Pacific time, arriving in Columbus at 6:51 p.m. Eastern time.

(NOTE: The flight numbers correspond to the retired OSU jersey numbers of Heisman Trophy winners Archie Griffin and Eddie George.)

Some seats are still available on Skybus’ regularly scheduled service to Bellingham on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15. The regular daily flight departs Columbus at 7:05 a.m. and arrives in Bellingham at 8:42 a.m., so even on Saturday passengers would be able to make the short trip to Seattle in time for the kickoff. Rental cars and public transportation to Seattle are available at Bellingham International Airport. Skybus’ regularly scheduled return flight from Bellingham to Columbus departs Bellingham at 9:07 a.m. (PDT) and arrives in Columbus at 4:26 p.m. (EDT). (Please note these flights do not include the option to purchase a football game ticket.)
