This ever-popular Gilbert & Sullivan operetta turned ballet in a simple boy meets girl love story which begins when an orphan is mistakenly apprenticed to a tender lot of pirates and falls in love with the daughter of a Major-General. An accident of birth prevents him from enjoying his new found happiness, but then all is put to right in the classic Gilbert & Sullivan finale.
Lots of fun and lots of action as the Pirate King, the Major-General, bumbling policemen and a bevy of beautiful daughters fill the stage.
An ingenious choral device allows the audience to focus on the dancers. Orlando Ballet ’s unique staging makes “Pirates: The Ballet” a great evening for all.
