Sunday evening (2100 UTC) Hurricane Felix was about 710 kilometers southeast of Kingston, Jamaica. The hurricane is moving northwest toward Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula at a speed of 32 kilometers per hour.

A category four hurricane is capable of causing extensive damage. Forecasters said Sunday they expect the storm to continue to strengthen.

Earlier Sunday, the storms outer bands brushed the islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire off the coast of Central America. There were reports of scattered power outages on the islands.
