Emirates Makes Beautiful Music With Sydney Orchestra

Sydney Symphony and Emirates have announced that they will continue their robust relationship, with a three-year renewal this week of the Principal Partnership for the Orchestra.

The collaboration represents a success story in arts sponsorships, and Emirates views the ongoing relationship as a way of ensuring world class performances continue to reach Australian shores, while encouraging excellence through diversity in the local community.

Libby Christie, Managing Director of Sydney Symphony Orchestra said “We are delighted Emirates has renewed their long term association. The Sydney Symphony is taking a rigorous approach to these relationships, ensuring Emirates receives maximum value from the sponsorship.”

Emirates will continue to use the Sydney Symphony to communicate with the community and their passengers in particular, through a customised website, developed specifically for the Symphony community which offers special deals for subscribers.

As Principal Partner, Emirates is also proud to be the naming-rights partner for one of the Sydney Symphony’s core concert series, the Emirates Metro Series. The series represents the Orchestra’s highly successful performances on eight Fridays each year, held by world-class conductors and soloists. For Emirates this series represents a perfect fit with its target audience, and the sponsorship overall is deemed an excellent alignment for both partners.

Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline said: “Emirates considers its role as Principal Partner for the Sydney Symphony to be an enormously valuable component of its extensive sponsorship portfolio and its business activity. With a strong international profile and high standards of excellence, the Orchestra reflects some of our defining characteristics.

“As its wider community travels frequently and requires superior quality in an airline, our services also meet an existing need for the Symphony audience. For Emirates, this partnership has helped it to reach out to Sydneysiders, and indeed all of Australia. I’m very pleased that we are able to renew the agreement for a further three years.” -- www.sydneysymphony.com
