Phoenix Theatre Presents 'Crazy For You'

From author Ken Ludwig who penned last season's standing-room-only Phoenix Theatre hit, Leading Ladies, this high energy song and dance production is full of zany comedy and larger than life characters performed by some of the Valley's favorite actors. It follows the story of Bobby Child, the son of a rich New York banking family, who wants nothing more than to take to the stage. And despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be-ex-fiancé to stop him, Bobby seeks deep within his heart to find and achieve his dream.

Winner of the 1992 Tony Award for Best Musical, the classic score contains memorable Gershwin songs such as "They Can't Take That Away from Me," "Embraceable You," "I Got Rhythm," and "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Crazy for You features a book by Ken Ludwig, music by George Gershwin, and lyrics by Ira Gershwin.

Barnard has cast Jody Madaras as Bobby Child; Sara Wolter as Irene, his fiancé; Mike Lawler as Everett; and Jenny Hintz as Polly.

The supporting cast of Crazy for You includes Michael Sample (Lank Hawkins), Carolyn Pain (Mother), Dion Johnson (Eugene Fodor), Brian Runbeck (Zangler), and Lisa Fogel (Patricia Fodor).

The cast of 26 also includes Krystina Alabado, Sam Atkins, Walter Belcher, Jason Michael Butler, Laura Christian, Lucas Coatney, Gary Edwards, Chris Erickson, Phillip Fazio, Mike Flossi, Jamie Greenberg, Chelsea Grohen, Paul Kukes, Molly La Joie, Shawna Quian, Ashley Stults and Laurie Trygg.

The creative team for Crazy for You includes Robbie Harper (Choreographer), Alan Ruch (Music Director), Robert Kovach (Scenic Designer), Mike Eddy (Lighting Designer), and Dave Temby (Sound Design).

Crazy For You will be Phoenix Theatre's largest production in its 87 year history in the Valley.
