“Sex and the City” girls Miranda, Samantha, Carrie and Charlotte may soon have new offscreen job titles – international man-hunters.

That’s because a production company affiliated with the “Sex and the City” cuties has reportedly put out feelers to the New Zealand Film Board and local broadcast outlets for advice on how to hunt down – and capture! – the sexiest man in New Zealand for a role in their upcoming film.

If confirmed, the SATC girls would be taking a page out of the book of Britain's BBC Worldwide Productions "How Do I Solve A Problem Like Maria?," a star-search style reality show in which Julie Andrews wannabes competed to star in a new production of "The Sound of Music." In the U.S., the Broadway musical “Grease” was similarly cast using a reality show called “You’re the One that I Want” that premiered on America’s NBC network.

"Grease" was first seen in Chicago in 1971 and opened on Broadway in 1972. The 1978 film, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, was one of the highest-grossing movie musicals and spawned No. 1 hit songs "You're the One That I Want" and "Summer Nights."

The project sought to use the hot trend of reality TV to build buzz for the more traditional Broadway setting.

Set in a 1950s high school, "Grease" tells the story of a romance between Sandy, who is befriended by the rebellious Pink Ladies, and Danny, the black-leather clad head of the T-Birds.

But “SATC” star Cynthia Nixon recently noted in New York that New Zealand was “just one of many” settings being considered for a “Sex and the City” film sequel, and that an upcoming storyline might include a “down under billionaire.” The first film in the SATC series, which cost under $100 million to make, took in over $700 million in the worldwide box office. Other stars in the film include Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall.
