Canberra Theatre Centre Presents Sydney Dance Company

Canberra Theatre Centre will present a show by Sydney Dance Company. This choreographic celebration of Graeme Murphy's 30 years of creativity at Sydney Dance Company is a union of treasured moments, cherished memories and brilliant passages of dance innovation.

For Gala Suite, Graeme Murphy and Janet Vernon have called upon the insight of the dancers to judiciously select stand-out sections of repertoire that capture personal performance highlights for each individual artist. The results hold up a mirror to the creative process, drawing from a myriad of dance possibilities.

Cut is a work that is both new and revisionist. As a choreographer whose imaginative vocabulary can appear limitless, Murphy now looks back and looks forward simultaneously to explore his movements, to re-spin and re-cut.

This personal and poignant tribute to an outstanding part of Australian dance history has been created especially for Canberra Theatre Centre's 2007 Subscription Season. Choreography - Graeme Murphy, Creative Associate - Janet Vernon, Music: Gala Suite - Various, Cut - Paul Healy, Set - Vince Frost, Costumes - Jennifer Irwin, Lighting: Gala Suite - Adrian Sterritt, Cut - Damien Cooper.
