The inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed, who were killed in a car crash in Paris ten years back, would finally begin on 2nd October.
Lord Justice Scott Barker, the fourth Coroner to take charge of the proceedings, will head the inquest which would decide the reasons for the car crash in Paris that claim the lives of Diana, Dodi and their chauffeur Henry Paul.
Lord Baker said the British media that the inquest would not take more than six months.
The hearing will examine Dodi's father Md Al-Fayed's claims that his son and Diana were murdered in a conspiracy involving MI6 and masterminded by Duke of Edinburg Prince Philip, an allegation rejected by the Royal Family.
"Anyone who loses a child in such a horrific way should be allowed to know what really happened and I am not resting until I uncover the murderers who took the life of two beautiful people," the Harrods owner said.
Apart from Al-Fayed, the Coroner would hear evidence of a number of witnesses by video link from Paris. The hearings on the inquest would start despite the Bishop of London Richard Chartres' recent plea to put an end to the conspiracy theories which have shrouded the Princess of Wales' memory.
"Let it end here," the Bishop had said at Diana's memorial service on Friday, a plea which reportedly echoed the wishes of Prince William and Prince Harry.
It may be recalled that a 3.6 million pound police inquiry into the car crash on 31st August 1997, had earlier concluded that it was simply "a tragic accident" and the chauffeur of the vehicle was drunk. - DDNEWS
