Chevy’s sponsorship of the band’s tour is part of a larger promotional campaign and will consist of on-line, grassroots, and promotional media extensions.
Chevrolet, too, shares in Maná’s passion for environmental issues, and is leading the way in alternative fuel technology. E85 is a renewable, cleaner burning fuel made of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, and can be made from plants such as corn. E85 is available in seven Chevrolet products such as Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado 1500, Avalanche and Impala.
Chevy is producing E85 ethanol flex fuel vehicles as part of its strategy to help displace petroleum use and also reduce vehicle emissions. The strategy also includes improving the efficiency of the traditional internal combustion engine with technologies available today; and developing electrically-driven vehicles such as hybrids, plug-in hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, and extended range electric vehicles. GM is increasing its E85 vehicle production by 25 percent. with over 2 million E85 FlexFuel vehicles on the road in all 50 states.
In addition, many Chevy products are available with Active Fuel Management, a fuel-saving technology that shuts off cylinders when the engine doesn’t require full power. Chevrolet also has eight models that get over 30 miles per gallon. This year, Chevy will make history as it introduces the largest market test of fuel cell vehicles ever, emission free, when it begins Project Driveway in the Fall of 2007. -GM news
