Emerson Receives Honors for Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Technologies

Four climate control products developed by Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson, recently received 2007 Dealer Design Awards from an independent panel of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration contractors convened by the industry’s leading news publication, the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News.

Emerson Climate Technologies received the gold award in the residential controls category for its UltraTech™ communicating technology for residential air conditioning systems. The UltraTech communicating system enables the components of a home heating and cooling system – the thermostat, indoor control board, variable-speed blower motor, outside control board and a two-stage Copeland Scroll® compressor – to share information to precisely maintain indoor temperature and humidity, alert the homeowner to problems, help the contractor troubleshoot system problems and protect the compressor from system-damaging faults.

In the refrigeration category, Emerson Climate Technologies won a gold award for its Copeland® SystemPro™ Condensing Unit for foodservice applications. These fractional horsepower condensing units come from the factory with pre-installed, pre-sealed and factory-tested system protection devices in place and are ideal for use in refrigeration applications such as reach-in cases, food prep tables and under-counter units where space is limited.

In the commercial controls category, Emerson Climate Technologies earned silver honors for its Control Link™ Case Display which provides temperature display for refrigerated cases like those in supermarkets.

In the testing and monitoring category, Emerson Climate Technologies also received a silver award for its commercial version of Comfort Alert™ diagnostic, which diagnoses and analyzes system faults and protects Copeland Scroll compressors from common electrical and system problems that can damage the compressor.

“We are proud to receive this recognition from The News and from the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration contractors who served as judges for this year’s competition,” said Tom Bettcher, Emerson executive vice president and business leader of Emerson Climate Technologies. “This is affirmation that our drive to develop integrated product solutions for the HVACR industry delivers real benefits and value for our customers.”

Each year, the Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News presents the Dealer Design awards to recognize the best, most innovative technologies in the HVACR industry.

“These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions,” said John Conrad, publisher of the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News.-Emerson release
