Confident Bush gets perplexed at APEC

Bush confidence in his speech has fews slips on Friday meet at APEC summit however he was quick to give it better twist and ended his words well.

US President George Bush, on Friday, confusing Apec with Opec and transforming Australian troops into Austrians his tongue slipping as soon as he started talking at a business forum on occasion of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit in Sydney.

"Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for your introduction," he told Prime Minister John Howard. "Thank you for being such a fine host for the Opec summit."remark made hundreds of delegates in peels of laughter soon President Bush corrected jokingly, "He invited me to the Opec summit next year." Australia has never been a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Bush then said Howard had gone to visit "Austrian troops" last year in Iraq. factually, no Austrian troops there. yes the Australia has about 1 500 Australians army personnel in Iraq.

On his speech, Bush took the wrong way off-stage and, looking slightly perplexed, had to be re-directed by Howard to a center-stage exit.

His nervousness could be attributed to his failing plans in Iraq,Afghanistan, Iran and Mideast which are not taking shapes and his popularity touching low ebb with a year left for him for his President ship.US economic making spiral downward is cause of concern and Russia taking lead as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mr Howard signed a nuclear safeguard agreement to allow Australian uranium sales to Russia, worth
up to $1 billion a year, with Mr Putin giving assurances that the material would not be used in weapons or sold to rogue states.

In order to pursue more economic opportunity US President George Bush proposed a new Asia-Pacific Democracy Partnership, calling on the democratic countries to work together in support of institutions that promote transparent governance. Mr Bush held private talks with Mr Putin on missile defense, though neither side reported a willingness to compromise on the issue that has provoked an intense stand-off between the two countries.

Doha talks failed as the US Europeans union, Brazil,Argentina and India failed on eliminating trade barriers to agriculture products and manufactured goods.

US President said on Friday US has both the will and flexibility to make Doha talks successful one.
