Basis Technology Corp. announced today that New City Corporation has adopted the Rosette® Japanese Postal Address Analyzer (JPOST) to globalize its real-estate information analysis system. New City Corporation is an international real estate merchant banking and investment management powerhouse with offices across the Pacific Rim.

Basis Technology’s JPOST enables information systems to standardize the complex structure of Japanese postal addresses, which may be written in a variety of formats and typically contain a mixture of Japanese and English characters and numerals. Shifting to the standard Japanese postal system format allows for de-duplication and mailing list processing. JPOST can convert Japanese characters to Roman letters for systems that can’t handle Japanese. It can also fill-in missing address components or offer address look-up by postal code.

New City’s use of JPOST allows for integrated management of expert reports, case studies, address data, and location details, enabling analysts to dissect and process real-estate investment information. The complexity and variability of Japanese postal addresses presents unique challenges for software applications. Integrating JPOST not only enables these applications to handle such addresses but also adds multilingual capabilities by converting addresses from Japanese script to Roman characters.

“We are pleased to see Rosette and JPOST playing a key role in the analysis of critical real estate information,” said Carl Hoffman, CEO of Basis Technology. “JPOST's ability to Romanize Japanese postal addresses will benefit New City Corporation as they expand their global business operations.”-Basis Technology
