Emergency Management: Training and Exercises

University of California, Irvine Extension presents Emergency Management: Training and Exercises, developed to arm participants with a roadmap for successful response in the wake of major emergencies and disasters. The course will take place during the fall session, with classes scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays between October 26 and November 10.

The course is a part of UC Irvine Extension’s Certificate Program in Emergency Management and Disaster. The program prepares safety and health professionals to take on leadership roles in assuring safe and healthy work environments. Those in the occupational safety field or related fields such as fire, paramedic, security, risk management and loss can benefit from the program.

Participants will receive hands-on training for real-time disaster response. All exercises and training were developed in accordance with Standard Emergency Management Systems (SEMS), National Incitement Management Systems (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) guidelines. Emergency Management: Training and Exercises is being taught by Terre Duensing, division manager of Health Disaster Management for Orange County Health Care Agency.
