Houston Museum Presents Tales From Eruption

Houston Museum will present Pompeii: Tales from an Eruption, on view March 2 - June 22, 2008 at the Caroline Wiess Law Building.

The exhibition consists of about 350 objects, generally excavated in the last decade, from three famous and wealthy sites.

They include marble statues, wall frescoes, gold jewelry, silver dinner service and household items, bronze household items, coins, and a family of three.

The picture shows Roman, Mosaic with Gorgon, House of the Centenary, Pompeii, c. 100 B.C.-100 A.D., Naples, Museo Archaeologico Nazionale. -- www.mfah.org
